nsettings.cgi get corrupt (nearly every day!!)

Postby prommy » Wed Mar 17, 2004 8:24 am

Hi!

I have a running coranto-system for 3 years. (Original coranto), and it works, BUT there is a BIG PROBLEM with the nsettings.cgi.

Nearly every day it gets "smaller", e.g. User deleted, or add-ons deactived.

HOW CAN I SAVE THE NSETTINGS.CGI??? What about to make it read-only? the onl

The system has about 20 Users and 15 000 news-article.

Thanks a lot.

What version of coranto are you using?

It is sort of possible to stop updating of nsettings, but that would also mean it would be impossible to change almost all of your preferences.

nesettings without 777: session problem

Postby prommy » Mon Mar 22, 2004 11:36 am

Hi!
When i make the nsettings "read-only", there will be no sessions saved anymore. For other changes i can make the file 777. Thats not the problem.
No other users than i should change something in the system. My only wish is, that there will be no more "cutted nsettings"..

Thanks for helping!

PS: I am using the orig. coranto with sql-addon.

1) use moveit.
it is a reasonable backup addon (I will improve on it soon though...)
2) lots of code changed sinceb29. SO I would suggest to upgrade to the most recent supported version (if you use sql that means 1.02)
Coranto addons:
* GuestPost, one click guestposting
* MoveIt!, Advanced Backup and site transfer
* PartialRebuild, CPU-friendly enhancement of FullBuild
* URLColumn, URLs for multiple Categories/Profiles
* Tickit!, Javascript News Tickers/Faders for Coranto!
* AddonEnabler, enables or disables single, multiple or all addons in one go
* SubmitMultiple, post consecutive news in an automatic loop!
* RSSAdvanced, RelatedNews ....
