Is it possible to have two Coranto's running?

Postby Timewell » Sat Jan 18, 2003 12:11 am

Hi guys, is it possible to have two Coranto's running on the same server at the same time? I want one Coranto to appear on the front page of the site and one later on. Is it possible?

Hope you guys can help! :)

You can do that just by installing coranto into 2 seperate folders, but you can make seperate news for different parts of your site by using news categories addon and profiles (1 for each)

That's correct, there is no need to have two installations of Coranto on one site. All you have to do is add the catagories addon and your set.

The question has already been answered, but I had 5 Corantos, and 3 phpBBs running on my site at once.

With forums thats understandable but with Coranto you're just making more unnecessary work for yourself.

So what I do is config another coranto pointing to a different directory yeah?

So I keep the same set of Coranto in my cgi-bin and go to coranto.cgi, login as setup and set the news path to a different folder in my directory called News2 or something like that?

Your hosting company must love you. If I did that they'd throw a brick through my window.

Heh, at the moment, I am self-hosted. I plan to go for some hosting if I can ever find anything cheap and decent (I'd like subdomains).

Put each install in different directories, and make sure their newsdat.txt isnt in the same directory.

What is an Install? I guess it is you setup another Coranto using the same coranto.cgi and make sure the news is stored in a different folder right?

No. Just set up a whole other Coranto. Start it from scratch, just put it in a different directory from your old one.

decrypt the following message and you are the winner: |\/| 0 |2 0 |\|

anyway, just upload to two separate directories
