Default location of built files

Postby Lumberjack » Sat Jan 13, 2007 11:14 pm

By default built files are put in the /data folder, but I think it would be better if they were put in a folder such as /built, to avoid confusion between the settings files and files that can be deleted with no effect. This way, a user can delete everything in /built and then build news again.

Disagree. We don't need another folder for that - cluttering the install directory structure, as most users will specify their own folders for built files anyway.

Well yes I agree with that, but at first setup the files currently go into data, where they don't belong. Another option is to leave it unspecified and force the user to choose a directory during setup? Wait, does it already do that? My brain is like a sieve...
