Tested addons

Postby Lumberjack » Sat Jan 13, 2007 5:36 pm

Working:
    Backup (build 2) works if given $CConfig{'data_path'}
    CSS Editor (beta build 1)
    TimeZone (this is my addon, I've updated it to use DOC 2, will post this when dev becomes stable..)
    Maginot (build 17)
    Annoying Notice (v1.01)
    Template Editor (v1.01) works if given $CConfig{tmpl_path}
    Anne Rice (build 2)
    X MultiSubmit (v2.1)
Not working:
    GuestReg (v1.3)
    RSS File Advanced (beta build 5d)
Incorporated into core:
    Style Debugger
    isNewValue
    Facelift (for the most part)
    Title Fields (seems to work)

With V1.31.5 there really is no need of a separate RSS addon. Everything you need to do RSS can be done with a profile and style. See this discussion.

That is one reason why I have never really tried to get Feed Builder to work with 1.31.5.

RSS File Advanced (beta build 5d) works but gives this conflict:
Code: Select all
Unable to flock 'path/to/data/rss.xml'. Resource temporarily unavailable

Affects the whole build process, halting where it was from what I can tell.

This is the version by cerberos76, who has not and most likely willnot release his addons under any kind of license that allows others to modify them.

RSS File Beta Build 4 is by elvii and is the one that I based Feed Builder on. The build process is different in the 1.31.5 version to do a better job of locking the files and hopefully completely eliminating the zero byte bug that a few people experienced.

Anyone is welcome to look at Feed Builder and see if you can make it compatible with 1.31.5. I got lost when I tried to see what was different in the core. :shock:

As I stated above you really don't need an addon to do feeds with 1.31.5, but for some users it might be more convenient.

If someone wants to help with the build issue, I will update Feed Builder to also do ATOM feeds.

We'll see what the demand is for that. If it can be done with templates and styles then that's fine, I've seen the proof of concept and it was nice (add to wiki?)

For what it's worth my 'vBulletin (3.x) Comments' enhancements to Lawrence's original worked OK with 1.31.2.

I haven't tried it with 1.31.5 though but I may give that a go over the next week or so if the download is available somewhere.
